Yes, you’ve read that correctly! We miss our patrons here at Riverdale and that is why as of January 1, 2022, we are  FINE FREE!

What does Fine Free mean for you?

Fine Free gives you the luxury of checking out library materials (books, audiobooks, DVDs, and CDs) without incurring a late fee should you return them after the specified due date.

Can you just keep the materials indefinitely?

Unfortunately, you can’t keep any materials indefinitely, because there will always be someone who may be interested in the item(s) you have checked out. If our patrons checked out materials and never returned them – our library would be pretty bare and that would be a disservice to all of us. If an items is checked out for a long period of time without being returned, we would have no choice but to consider it lost.

What happens if I lose or damage an item?

If any item is lost or damaged, you will be responsible for the replacement.
